He added that the group has intensified its computer advocacy in primary schools since last year, to build pupils’ digital capacity.

“We skipped last year’s programme (annual IDF’s Quiz/Debate Competition & Annual Public Lecture), for economic reasons, and decided to bridge the gap by consolidating on our computer advocacy awareness in the primary and secondary schools in this community.

“I am happy to report that the turn-out has been very impressive.

“We hope other interested schools (Public and Private Schools) would take full advantage of this unique opportunity”, the IDF Chairman said.

“Permit me to seize this opportunity to appeal to the good conscience of all the well-to-do and concerned individuals to cooperate with this Foundation in raising the bar on the expansion of this project.

“Apart from the future benefits to the students, the computer training too will go a long way to prevent ‘Free street boys’ from idle hands to becoming economic and security gains in this community in particular.

“The students too should be mindful of this opportunity and set their minds towards being good ambassadors of themselves tomorrow. Not many students may be so fortunate. Set out as role models, remain focused, and set goals so that after your education and training, you don’t become idle or a liability but employers of labour”.
